A man has been charged after two teens were killed in a crash near the NSW-Victorian border last month.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with a string of dangerous driving charges and also a charge of stolen property.

Emergency services were called to Silver City Highway, 13km south east of Dareton, in NSW about 3.15am on Thursday April 14, after a passing motorist saw a sedan crashed off the roadway.

Emergency services attended and found the bodies of two 15-year-old boys near the vehicle, which had rolled multiple times.

One of the teens killed was identified as Kallan Newton Swain who was described by family as cheeky and “adventurous”.

Officers attached to Barrier Police District established a crime scene and started inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Officers arrested an 18-year-old man at a correctional facility on Monday.

He was charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death-drive manner dangerous, two counts of negligent driving (occasioning death), two counts of fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death, never licensed person drive vehicle on road and receive property stolen outside NSW.

The man was refused bail to appear at Broken Hill Local Court on Monday.
