A Mildura yardsman has faced court over the alleged theft of a car in Robinvale last month.
Kolbi Ridley, 21, was facing charges after being arrested on Thursday May 12 along with a co-accused.
The court heard that Mr Ridley was found inside the allegedly stolen Toyota HiLux but that he “didn’t know” it was stolen.
Mr Ridley was held in custody and appeared in the Mildura Magistrates’ Court on Monday facing a charge of theft of a motor vehicle and breaching a community correction order.
Magistrate Michael Coghlan said that he “didn’t believe” Ridley wouldn’t have known that the car was stolen.
He was sentenced to seven days imprisonment for breaching the community corrections order and will return to court at a later date.
Police reminded the community to ensure they lock their vehicles and houses and secure any vehicle keys away from their vehicles.
