Old Xaverians have maintained their two-game break at the top of the Premier ladder after a ferocious win over De La Salle at Waverley Oval on Saturday.
Another classy Xavs performance muzzled De La from the outset, and secured a 121-point win, 22.17 (149) to 4.4. (28).
With a string of high scoring wins under their belt, Xavs may appear ready for a promising finals campaign. But for coach Paul Satterley any thought of finals is still too early for the Xavs to entertain.
“My whole focus is that we as a club, in all honesty, have not even mentioned finals at any stage,” he said. “We just don’t want to get ahead of ourselves for fear of how strong the competition is.”

Xavs, however, look stronger than ever with former AFL Bomber Will Hams conjuring a colossal 50 touches and three goals against De La Salle.
“I don’t think I’ve seen that sort of dominance in my time,” Satterley said. “He just played an unbelievable game of footy.”
Midfielder Rohan Bewick also kicked four goals while captain Dan Noonan’s contributions helped shut down De La’s forward line.
“I was blown away by how well the boys played and in the end how easily they were able to get the job done,” Satterley said. “I certainly felt like we had our strongest line up of the year. Whether you’re playing the bottom side or the side just below you, there’s so much to play for in this competition.”
