Southern league Division 1 power Dingley has boosted its 2024 premiership chances with the signing of gun forward Trent Dennis-Lane.
Dennis-Lane, 35, played 29 games at AFL level for Sydney and St Kilda between 2010 and 2014.
After playing VFL for three season prior to being delisted in 2013, Dennis-Lane joined Bonbeach in the Mornington Peninsula league.
Despite its strong midfield, Dingley has struggled inside 50 in recent years, not having a player kick more than 46 goals in a season since it won the premiership in 2019.
Manny Dolan led the Dingoes this year with just 35, which included a haul of 11 against St Kilda City.
Dennis-Lane is tipped to play between six and 10 games with his commitments as senior coach of the Western Jets.
He is also rumoured to be among the many applicants for the Frankston Dolphins VFL coaching position.
After bundling out in straight sets in 2023, the Dingoes are expected to add more than Dennis-Lane to its already strong base.
More to come.
