The Southern Football Netball League’s independent match review panel is examining an incident that resulted in a Division 4 match being abandoned.
Saturday’s senior game between South Mornington and Moorabbin Kangaroos was abandoned during the third term after a serious injury to a Roos player.
The Kangaroos player suffered a head injury and spent the night under review at Frankston Hospital.
The incident occurred in South Mornington’s forward line and it’s understood the Tigers’ player was not reported by the umpire.
The match was abandoned with the Tigers leading 10.6 (66) to 8.3 (51).
The result doesn’t impact the layout of the finals with the Roos and Tigers set to meet in both the seniors and reserves again this Saturday for a place in respective grand finals.
Moorabbin Kangaroos president Muhammad Kiki declined to comment but backed the league in to complete its tribunal process.
Tigers president Lachlan Bell-Towers and Southern league chief executive officer Lee Hartman also declined to comment.
