ROSEBUD is on the hunt for a new coach after Adrian McBean announced he would step down at season’s end.
McBean cited increased work commitments for his decision to end his two-season tenure at the Buds.
He informed Rosebud officials on Monday night and the players were told on Tuesday.

“It was my decision,” McBean said.
“The two year contract has been on the table for four weeks to be quite honest. I’ve just kept putting if off, trying to find a way to go around next year, and just can’t do it. So it was a pretty hard decision to make to be quite honest. It’s a really good club.”
McBean, who works as a sales manager for a printing company, said he and his wife were likely to move back to Melbourne in the new year.
He will coach Rosebud in its remaining four games this season.
Rosebud football manager Mark Hustwaite said it was a shame McBean could not commit because he has been good for the club.
“He wants to give it absolutely everything and we completely know that’s his character now that we’ve had him for a couple of years and he’s in a position where he cannot do it probably to the standard or effor that he wants to put in,” Hustwaite said.
McBean, a former Northern Blues development league head coach, took Rosebud to the Nepean finals last year in his first season in charge. This year, stepping up to division one, the Buds have won four games and had a draw.
Hustwaite said the Rosebud coaching job was a “fantastic” one for the right person.
“We’ve beaten last year’s grand finalists (and) we were within a few points of Edithvale right up to the siren,” he said.
“And we’ve also dealt with a significant injury list...
“We knew coming up to Division 1 was going to be a challenge but now that we’ve had a good look at it we are really ready to give it a crack.”
Hustwaite said Rosebud would begin advertising for a coach this week.
