Gippsland Power hopes it’s significant improvement can lead to results on and off the field this year for their girls program.

The Power last year was the second most successful country side with three wins for the season.

It was the first year for the girls team with full-time coaches.

Gippsland Power coach Nathan Boyd said despite the initial success of the team, the players have improved out of site.

“I’m really comfortable with a majority of our list,” he said.

“I think we’ve been able to select a really good list.

“We’re 20 percent better off than what we were last year.”

And it could lead to some of the girls being in contention to be drafted.

“We want to be competitive and allow our players to show their strengths competitively,” he said.

“Signs look really good for a couple of our girls.

“We’ve got two or three others who have come along great in the past 12 months and if they continue to develop and grow their footy skills they may play a part in nationals.”

Here is a look at all the players in the Power team for this year as coach Boyd helps breaks them all down.
