An Armadale man’s work van has been raided overnight as thieves made off with $55,000 worth of tools and equipment

The heartless crooks also stole a $20,000 trailer with an attached sewer machine, a rigid locator and Milwaukee pack outs from outside the victim’s residence.

The victim left his home at 6.30am on January 25 to head to work, only to find his ute broken into and the trailer gone.

According to the victim, the tools taken were enough to “pretty much start a plumbing business.”

Investigating officers said they believe the theft happened between 8pm on January 24 and 6.30am on January 25.

The investigation remains ongoing.

This theft comes after a string of break-ins across the inner southeastern suburbs, including the aggravated burglary of radio host John ‘Dr Turf’ Rothfield’s home in Malvern East last week and the violent murder of Dr Ash Gordon in Doncaster, after he confronted thieves who had broken into his home.

Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make an anonymous online report here.
