McKinnon: Three men wanted over alleged ram-raid at hardware store

Three men are accused of driving an SUV into a hardware store, stealing items, and then hitting a police car as they escaped.

Three men are being hunted after they allegedly ramraided a hardware store in Melbourne’s inner south and then hit a police car as they made their escape.

Investigators believe the trio unsuccessfully tried to break in to the McKinnon Rd store on May 3 about 5.30am, using an ankle grinder and a crowbar.

They then smashed through the front entrance in a black Holden SUV and grabbed cash and tools.

Police quickly arrived at the store and the trio then allegedly collided with a police car before they sped off from the scene.

Investigators have obtained CCTV footage and images of the three men allegedly involved in the incident and have appealed for the public’s help to track them down.

The first man is believed to be in his mid 20s, of Mediterranean appearance, and was wearing a multi-coloured bandana as a face mask and a black Carharrt jumper.

The second man has a caucasian appearance and was wearing a black baseball cap and a black-and-white Fila jumper.

The third man is believed to be aged in his late 20s, of caucasian appearance, and was wearing a black face mask, a grey Lacoste T-shirt and white gloves.
