Police arrest man and a woman after seizing allegedly stolen MCC card and drugs in South Melbourne
An alleged Bonnie and Clyde’s mission to sneak into the MCC has been foiled after police seized an allegedly stolen membership card and a stash of drugs during a raid.

A pair of alleged thieves with high-end tastes and an eye on one of Melbourne’s most exclusive clubs have been foiled before they could even get through the door.
A Melbourne Cricket Club membership card and sets of high-end golf clubs were among the lucrative allegedly stolen items seized by police during a raid at a Park St, South Melbourne home on Wednesday.
A 55-year-old woman and 43-year-old man were arrested at the scene, with police also finding a stash of meth, cash, multiple bank cards, nine mobile phones and five laptops.
Three passports in the names of other people, including a German passport allegedly stolen in Melbourne in December 2022 was also seized.
No collared shirts were seized by police, meaning the man would have had to source his own if he wanted to meet the MCC dress code requirements.
The MCC waiting list is about 188,000 people long, with approval into the lowest category of membership currently at a 16 year wait.
The woman was charged with trafficking meth, possessing heroin, dealing with proceeds of crime and handling stolen goods.

Both were bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on October 17.
