A drug-dealing beauty therapist who sold ice out of a stolen car parked at Moorabbin DFO has been jailed.

Lily Leigh Jebson came to the attention of cops because she was seen loitering with three other people who repeatedly went into the shopping complex and back to a blue Mercedes.

The Cranbourne 24-year-old was also caught with a jumper and bed sheets that a friend of hers had stolen from Southland earlier the same day.

She pleaded guilty at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court yesterday to drug trafficking, receiving stolen goods, dealing with the proceeds of crime and breaching court orders imposed for previous drug-dealing, that time involving GHB.

The court heard police were tipped off about the quartet’s suspicious activity at the DFO about 3pm on May 30.

When officers arrived they found the Mercedes was stolen and its number plates cloned. Jebson was not charged with stealing the car but arrested and searched, with police finding $955 cash in her purse, which police believed was drug money.

A search of the front passenger seat where she had been sitting uncovered an orange case containing the drug ice, digital scales and deal bags.

When Jebson unlocked her phone officers saw a series of text messages indicating she had been dealing.

Just 90 minutes earlier Jebson had met up with a friend and paid $50 for a jumper and bed sheets that had been taken from Southland by the other woman that day.

She was arrested and remanded, and later admitted she was dealing drugs.

Jebson describes herself online as an actor, extra, model, photographer, hair stylist, makeup artist and fashion stylist, having been involved in the beauty industry for over six years.

Her defence lawyer said Jebson clearly had a drug issue, previously smoking ice three or four times a week and was hoping to go into detox.

She said Jebson was suffering PTSD from a horrific event she witnessed involving an ex-partner in 2016, which had exacerbated her drug use.

Magistrate Vicky Prapas said Jebson had done very little on her previous order and the new offending was similar, and very serious.

“You’ve been before the courts previously and given opportunities to address your offending, but regrettably you weren’t able to take advantage of them,” Ms Prapas said.

“This new offending is trafficking again in a drug that is prolific in this community.”

But Ms Prapas, in imposing a combined prison and community corrections order sentence, said Jebson was not “beyond redemption” and therefore was not “shutting the door on her rehabilitation”.

Jebson was jailed for four months, minus 22 days already served, and must do a 12-month drug and mental health treatment order upon release.
