Domino’s Pizza creep Aaron Gray jailed for sex with underage girl in back shed of shop

A married Domino’s Pizza shop owner repeatedly had unprotected sex with a 15-year-old girl in the back of his store, and continued to see the girl for months even after his lewd acts were discovered.

A former Melbourne Domino’s Pizza shop owner has been jailed after he had unprotected sex with a 15-year-old girl.

A married Domino’s Pizza shop owner who had unprotected sex with a 15-year-old girl in a shed at the back of his store has been jailed for at least 22 months.

Aaron Gray, 33, was sentenced in the County Court on May 20 after he pleaded guilty to one count of sexual penetration of a child under the age of 16.

The father met the girl, who was 14 at the time, in 2014.

Gray’s sexual advances began in June the next year when he told the girl about a “sexual dream” he had about her.

He followed up with inappropriate phone calls in which he described the “sexual acts” he wanted to perform on the girl.

Gray had sex with the girl in the shed at the back of his Domino’s Pizza store in September, 2015.

He continued the inappropriate phone contact and had sex with the girl almost every Saturday until December.

The victim’s older sister confronted Gray and the girl at the store after she discovered messages and some “inappropriate” images.

Gray apologised but their relationship continued.

The older sister found out and confronted Gray via Facebook.

She also told Gray’s wife what he had been doing.

Gray told the sister he could not control his “feelings for the young girl” but vowed to cease contact, which he did in May, 2017.

The girl complained to police in October, 2017 after her mother became aware of what had happened.

Gray was arrested in March, 2018 but wasn’t charged until October.

The girl’s mother, in a victim impact statement, said she “lost the sense of trust that she formerly had”.

“She feels a variety of emotions, she is angry and sad and frustrated,” Judge Michael Tinney said.

“She also even has a sense of guilt in her mind, perhaps a sense of not having protected her daughter.”

Judge Tinney said the mother had nothing to feel guilty about as he denounced Gray’s conduct.

“The setting of the physical act, the immediate physical act, had no disinhibiting factors at play in the sense that you were not disinhibited in any way by alcohol or drugs or mental illness,” he said.

“I do not accept the suggestion of the sexual act being genuinely described as opportunistic.

“You were an adult, you were virtually twice her age. You were someone that she would understandably look up to.”

Gray was sentenced to a maximum 42 months in prison with a minimum of 22 months.

He will also be a registered sex offender for 15 years.

Gray had spent three days in prison at the time of sentencing.
