Dandenong home invasion: alleged drug dealer busted by cops after fending off axe-wielding thugs
A Dandenong man fended off six armed thugs who broke into his home by using their own weapon on them, but that didn’t stop him getting collared by detectives for his own crimes.

An unlucky victim of an attempted Dandenong home invasion — who fended off several thugs — has been arrested after police claim they found drugs, gold and jewellery at his property.
The illegal haul, believed to be the proceeds of crime, was discovered after police attended the De Villiers Drive home on May 31.
Six offenders of Islander appearance, one tooled up with an axe, had stormed the 26-year-old’s home about 8.45am.
One of the offenders used the axe to smash windows and force open the front door.
The baseball bat-wielding victim chased the hoods to their getaway cars, which were parked on the street.

The revved-up victim swapped the bat for the axe after one of the menaces dropped it while fleeing.
He used the axe to smash the windscreen of a Mercedes which was driven to the scene by the offenders.
The shaken suspects sped away with the axe still lodged in the windscreen.
Police attended and, after a brief search, found commercial quantities of ice and other drugs, a trafficable quantity of heroin and cannabis and gold bullion, cash and jewellery, believed to be the proceeds of crime.
The home invasion victim was arrested and charged with several offences including two counts of drug trafficking.
He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on August 26.
A second man, also 26, was arrested but was released pending summons.
