Coles Elsternwick will reopen this weekend following a two-year makeover.
The supermarket, on Glen Huntly Rd, features an instore bakery, traditional meat counter with a butcher, and bigger range of ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook meals and a gourmet deli with self-serve olive bar and expanded range of cheeses.
Coles Elsternwick also includes a huge range of international food and one of the biggest ranges of kosher foods in the country, including kosher roast chickens, a bakery, deli foods and hot fleishig ready-to-eat meals.
Chief financial officer Leah Weckert said the opening represented a significant economic investment in the Elsternwick Village shopping centre, creating 233 new retail jobs.
More than 1000 tradespeople were involved in the construction of the new development, which also includes 173 residential apartments and more than 200 undercover car parks.

Store manager John Siriopoulos said he was excited to provide the community with a new and convenient shopping hub.
“We’ve worked hard to tailor our range to meet the needs of the local community with convenient food options for customers on the go and our biggest range of kosher foods of any store in Australia,” he said.
“We think our customers are going to love our new store and we’ve done everything we can to make sure it was worth the wait.”
The store will officially open on Sunday, October 27 with food sampling, giveaways, free fruit and kids’ entertainment on site.
Former MasterChef contestant and co-host of Channel 10’s upcoming Farm to Fork cooking show, Courtney Roulston, will be running cooking demonstrations every hour until 6pm.
Coles Elsternwick at 467 Glen Huntly Road, Elsternwick will be open 24 hours, seven days a week.
