As they say in Baseball, three strikes and you’re out.
That was certainly the case for a 43-year-old Beaumaris man on Tuesday night.
Police caught the man allegedly speeding, drink driving and breaching the Chief Health Officer’s restrictions about 8.10pm.
Officers saw the man in his white BMW sedan on Nepean Hwy allegedly travelling at 138km/h in an 80km/h zone and pulled him over.
When police spoke to the Beaumaris man they also conducted a preliminary breath test.
He was then taken to a local police station for an evidentiary test where he returned an alleged reading of 0.157 per cent.
The man’s car was impounded, at a cost of $878.50, and his license was immediately suspended for 12 months.
He was also found to be in breach of directions from the Chief Health Officer under the State of Emergency declared in Victoria and was given a further fine of $1652.
The man is expected to be summonsed to appear at a Magistrates Court at a later date for traffic related offences.
