Bayside Confidential: Three Bayside dames join Real Housewives of Melbourne cast
It was high kicks all around as the next Real Housewives of Melbourne cast was announced this week — and a bunch of Bayside dames took out gold, silver and bronze. Plus The Block, MAFS’ Tash and Amanda and more.

Don't miss out on the headlines from Inner South . Followed categories will be added to My News.
Pop the corks Bayside, it was a trifecta in the returning Real Housewives of Melbourne casting Olympics with Gold, Silver and surprise Bronzed gongs. Now if this isn’t a real reason to celebrate our reputation as the biggest social hub in the land, we don’t know what is – #passthebolli
As predicted last week Kyla Kirkpatrick, AKA the “Champagne Dame”, put her best foot forward in a pair of stunning knee high gold boots for her casting announcement. It was high kicks all round as she promised to keep it real.
Bayside is clearly ecstatic, with locals bombarding her Instagram announcement with hundreds of comments and likes. The dame is sure to get everyone’s cork popping with her knowledge of champagne and big circle of bayside friends and colleagues.
Second place on the podium, although hotly contested by Gina Liano who wore a stunning silver gown, went to the sparkly Cherry Dipietrantonio, who wowed in a gorgeous metallic one-shouldered frock. Cherry, an expat Brit originally from, ooh la la, none other than South Hampton, has been a Brighton local for the past 20 years. We’re fairly sure there will be no titanic moments from this zen yogi who instructs at Black Rock and promises to bring some calm to the cast. She assures us she’s seen the show and knows what she’s up against. We can’t wait for yoga mats at dawn and wonder which housewife it will be to cry “stick your Namaste up your class”!
Bronze(d) was taken out by the reigning Queen of RHOM and returned Bayside resident Gina Liano. A firm fan favorite, she always shimmers in her Tan In A Can range! Gina has been a #RHOM since Season 1 and has plenty of Bayside heritage to share. She’s a Star of the Sea Girl and so naturally being a star of TV comes quite naturally. Whilst she’s swapped Toorak for officiating beachside weddings and signing autographs at Bayside Priceline, she won’t be contributing to the bubble’s heavy-weight belt in Champagne consumption, sharing with your columnists that her flawless skin is thanks to zero booze: “Nonna always told me drinking turns you into a hag.”

There wasn’t a hag to be seen at this reality TV launch, however, with returning castmates including the glamorous Gamble Breaux, who can be seen quite regularly Bayside for singing lessons or popping into hubby Rick Wolfe’s Vista Eyes just off the Nepean. Also returning are Janet Roach and Lydia Schiavello, who turned the glamour dial up in black ensembles. We have it on good authority that Janet Roach can give any teenager a run for their money when she slips on a bikini whilst Lydia, who has copped it in the past for her curves, was looking all woman from where we sat.
Adding intellectual star power is new cast member Anjali Rao who is better known locally for being an SBS news presenter than cat fights. Having ditched one type of channel for another we think the former CNN, Sky News and Channel 5 UK talent might find herself in a war zone soon enough!
What can we say – we love #RHOM and even had a slight appearance in Season One — a blink-and-you’ll-miss-us moment, but more on that later.
Speaking of love, it was all about a televised proposal this past Valentines Day at the Brighton Savoy for My Proposal Co. Childhood sweethearts Zane and Naydene said “yes” with Channel 9 News capturing the moment. The pair said they can’t wait to return to the local venue, which continues its reputation as a top wedding venue. This quiet achiever is a 50 year old family-owned hotel hosting 300+ weddings each year.
Itâs Valentineâs Day.. LOVE is in the air.. and she said YES! If ya like it and ya wanna put a ring on it.. tune-in to @9NewsMelb with @phitchener9 at 6pm ð pic.twitter.com/iuoNVT4IUC

ARE WE LOOKING AT THE NEXT REAL HOUSEWIVES?
WHERE'S TOTTIE? THREE’S A CROWD FOR CHANTOOZIES TRIO
WHAT LOCALS REALLY THINK ABOUT THE BLOCK COMING TO BRIGHTON
IS GINA LIANO RETURNING TO REAL HOUSEWIVES OF MELBOURNE?
On the subject of TV, reality is hitting Bayside hard with the Block officially opened for business and the “paparazzi” keen to infiltrate our Brighton housewives in their uggs and Jaggad active wear at all the local eateries and hot spots.
Over at Rippon Lea it was more dating disaster than love at first site with a MAFS wedding that promised a rainbow and instead delivered a storm worse than the recent local brown-out. There’s no love lost between Tash and Amanda, perpetuating MAFS’ reputation as the worst match makers in the history of dating television. #cringe
It wasn’t all doom and gloom however this past month at Rippon Lea with Baysiders falling in love with their Barefoot Cinema. The sell-out season enjoyed a closing night screening of Bombshells with all the single ladies huddled under blankets with their booze celebrating “Galantines Day”. Everyone’s favourite Neighbour, Margot Robbie, lit up the mega-screen like the star she is. Snaps for Margot.
Bayside is bringing the laughs with local comedy queen Libbi Gorr and a team of “Boomer” comedians calling for a Comedy Museum in Melbourne! Brian Nankervis and a stellar cast of veteran comics will tread the boards this coming February 29 at the Alex Theatre. They’ll present “Raiders of the Lost Laugh”, a one night only reunion set to support the campaign. Port Phillip Council is onboard, pencilling in potential bayside locations.
As promised, a final #RHOM tidbit. Your very own columnists had what you might call a cameo — read ring ins with a line or two — in Season One. We joined surgeon’s wife, Andrea Moss, for a focus group discussing a parenting book she planned to release. As a couple of single mothers we struggled to relate to the “un-real” advice and wondered what life must be like in the Porsche Cayenne school drop off. Our shock was all captured on camera — of course. Talk about learning about awkward close ups the hard way. We were quickly shuffled out the door and shared a laugh or two when we discovered we hadn’t made the cutting room floor. #realitybites
On that note, grab the popcorn Baysiders and keep the comments coming! Watch out for film crews bayside and look for Season 5 of RHOM set to air on tv screens later in the year on Foxtel.
