Victoria’s first indigenous film festival is bringing to light the voices of First Nation storytellers from across the world.
Birrarangga Film Festival will showcase over 20 films, animations, virtual reality films and documentaries; many in traditional languages.

Festival artistic director Tony Briggs is a Yorta Yorta/Wurundjeri film, television and theatre creative, best known for conceiving and co-writing the smash hit film, The Sapphires.
The Balwyn resident said he’s incredibly proud to be bringing visibility for First Nation storytellers.
“There are limited opportunities for people of colour or indigenous people to tell their stories in their own way,” he said.
“When I was a young boy, I never had the opportunity to see myself represented on screen in a small or large scale.
“To see yourself is to love yourself.”
Birrarangga Film Festival is coming to ACMI in Melbourne April 26 to 29.
