THE long-awaited St Kilda skate park is set to open to the public this weekend.
Part of Port Phillip Council's $4 million Marina Reserve development, the park has been on the agenda since residents began campaigning for it 20 years ago.
Catani ward councillor Serge Thomann said he was proud to see the project realised "after many years of hard work from both the council and the local community".
The development also includes a picnic and play area, new bike lane, walking path and barbecues.
The launch will be on Saturday from 11am- 3pm at Marina Reserve.
It will feature yoga classes, skateboarding and a free barbecue.
