Three men armed with a baseball bat and knives are accused of allegedly attacking bouncers and smashing the door of a Chapel St nightclub while one of their mates filmed it.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident at the front of the Electric bar — commonly known as Electric Ladyland — in Prahran on February 12 at 2.10am.

Prahran police Sergeant Tony Marasco said four men of African appearance turned up to the venue and spoke to security staff.

He said one of the men had a baseball bat, two had knives, and the fourth member of the group was filming with his mobile phone.

Sgt Marasco said members of the group assaulted the security staff and made their way into the venue.

They then allegedly smashed a glass door using the bat and a bollard from an outdoor dining display, then ran off.

Sgt Marasco said the incident lasted two minutes and the four men were last seen running down Chapel St and then into nearby Chatham St.

He said members of Stonnington’s crime investigation unit were investigating the incident and had obtained video footage.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is urged to phone Stonnington detectives on 9520 5200.
