Nuts for Donuts have a huge range of delicious desserts, including countless different types of doughnuts.

The business started back in 2019 with alcohol-infused under the name of Drunken Donuts, but branched out during the pandemic to offer artisan doughnuts, with vegan and gluten free options.

Alongside more than forty flavours of doughnut to try, the store also makes loaded waffles and New York style loaded cookies.

Plus, they’re about to launch a new range of cronuts and crullers – which are French inspired desserts that combine croissants and choux pastry with the classic doughnut.

Nuts for Donuts director Kosta Sivov said they were excited to launch the newest range and his team were loving tasting the samples.

As for the classic doughnuts, Mr Sivov said his favourite was the same as their most popular doughnut they sold.

“It’s the jam and cream,” he said.

“For customers, it’s the jam and cream, then the vanilla glaze and then custard.”

From its humble beginnings as a family-owned Croydon South bakery, Goldelucks has become a hugely popular brand in Melbourne’s doughnut scene.

Founded by Phillip Kuoch in 2015, they have outlets at Ringwood’s Eastland and Harbour Plaza Shopping Centre in Patterson Lakes, and have become known for its wacky creations over the years including its gold chocolate heart filled with 1kg of Nutella, and cake explosion boxes.

All three shops are pick-up points for online specials and offer a huge selection of doughnut flavours, coffees and shakes.

Among the company’s most popular favours are its golden gaytime, strawberry cheesecake, red velvet and oreo varieties.

But the Croydon bakeshop remains its spiritual home, and also offers extra items including pies and sausage rolls, sandwiches and rice paper rolls.

Goldelucks’ Croydon manager, Harry Seng, said the shop sells up to 200 doughnuts daily, with its bakers starting work at 11pm the night before to produce the freshly made treats.

At the end of the day, all unsold stock gets donated to a local food charity.

“We’re always happy to see our customers, they are all regulars and come in every day and have been very loyal,” Mr Seng said.

Mr Kuoch said the company had just moved into a new warehouse in Moorabbin, and were looking to open more stores and possibly expand to other states later this year.

He said a crucial key to Goldelucks’ success was its efforts on social media, and they had amassed more than one million followers across several channels.

In 2021, TikTok honoured them with an award for the best small business account in Australia.

“Unlike many brands, we are really proud that we have a direct relationship with our customers,” Mr Kuoch said.

“We love showing customers what goes on behind the scenes, business wins and fails and asking customers for new creation ideas.”
