You Are Not Alone

A man has been taken to hospital with critical injuries after he was hit by a train in Melbourne’s northeast.

Police and emergency services were called to Heidelberg train station about 6.15am Wednesday and the man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with upper body injuries.

A Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed it was a self-harm incident.

Services on the Hurstbridge line were immediately suspended, with Macleod and Clifton Hill commuters warned replacement buses could take more than an hour to arrive.

Trains from Eltham and Greensborough to Flinders St resumed about 8am, with buses supplementing services as regular frequency resumed.
