Rushworth’s Christopher Coyne in court, accused of threatening to kill Premier Dan Andrews
A Rushworth man allegedly told then premier Dan Andrews to “watch out for that bullet” in harrassing texts over his handling of Covid and the Commonwealth Games.

A Rushworth man accused of threatening to kill the former premier has fronted court.
Christopher Desmond Coyne, 39, fronted the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on June 3.
Mr Coyne allegedly made threats to kill Mr Andrews on September 26, 2023 — just one day before the then premier resigned his post as leader.
On the same day, Mr Coyne allegedly sent a harassing message which said, “you f---ing c-- bucket c--- now I can come after you watch out for that bullet maggot”.
Earlier in the year, on July 31, Mr Coyne had allegedly sent another harassing message.
“Wow so us tax payers have to pay for your f--- up on the comma Wealth (Sp) (sic) games you are truly a heap of s--- in a big way,” it allegedly said.
“You f---ed up with the COVID lost you should be the one sorting it out.
“I really hope you get what’s coming for you.
“You should be locked up for a long time you thief.”
Mr Coyne was charged by the counter terrorism unit on November 29, 2023.
He will next front court on July 15.
