A Wodonga man will face the County Court after being charged with raping a minor at Cobram.
John Jacob Kelly, 24, faced the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on May 28 for a committal mention.
Mr Kelly announced his intention to plead not guilty to the charges.
The alleged rape and sexual assault occurred in June and July 2022.
In total, Mr Kelly is facing seven charges, which include raping a minor and perverting the course of justice.
Magistrate Amina Bhai extended Mr Kelly’s bail, but reminded him he must not contact the witnesses in the prosecution’s case, after he allegedly messaged the complainant on February 18 and February 19, 2023, asking her to change her statement.
Mr Kelly will face the County Court on June 26 at 9am.
