One dead after horror Goulburn Valley truck crash
A truck driver was killed and another was seriously injured after two trucks collided in the Goulburn Valley overnight.

A truck driver has died while another has been flown to hospital after a horror crash in Victoria’s north east.
Emergency services were rushed to the Hume Freeway near Violet Town shortly after midnight on May 17 to reports of a serious crash.
According to a Victoria Police spokesman the circumstances surrounding the crash were being investigated but initial reports suggested two trucks had collided in the southbound lane.
“Sadly, the driver of one of the vehicles, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene,” he said.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.”
The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The spokesman asked anyone who witnessed the collision, or had any footage of it, to contact Crime Stoppers and assist the investigation.
There have been 93 deaths on Victorian roads this year, a 10 per cent increase on the same period in 2021, 56 of these have occurred in regional Victoria.
