Machinery causes Campaspe Shire grassfire

A grassfire started by machinery has broken out in the state’s north with locals urged to monitor the situation.

A grassfire has broken out in the state’s north with locals being urged to monitor the situation.

The fire started about 10.25am on Wednesday morning in Burramboot, about 35 minutes from Echuca.

There is also a haystack fire adjacent to the grassfire.

The fire has burnt around 1.5ha and around 30 hay bales.

There are four CFA trucks on scene from Colbinabbin and Corop, with the cause of the fire believed to be machinery related.

Emergency services advise that there is no current threat, but people in the areas of Burramboot, Colbinabbin, Corop, Lake Cooper, Myola and Runnymede should stay informed and monitor conditions.
