Firefighters battle blaze at Peppermill Inn Motel in Kialla

Fireys have rushed to contain a blaze at a popular motel in the Goulburn Valley.

150+ people evacuated from Kialla motel fire

A fire has broken out at a motel building in Victoria’s north, where 160 people were required to evacuate.

Police, paramedics, and three FRV trucks were called to the scene at the Peppermill Inn Motel on the Goulburn Valley Hwy just before 5pm on Thursday.

An FRV spokesperson on scene said it was a “good save”.

The fire was contained to a single unit upstairs and brought under control at 4.56pm.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said no emergency treatment or transport was required, and there were no known injuries.

It has not yet been confirmed what caused the fire.
