An Argentine national has had all charges against him withdrawn after a fatal car crash north of Shepparton last year.
Ezequiel Gamarra, 31, did not appear in court today, because he did not need to be there.
Mr Gamarra, who lives in Wellington, NSW, had previously been charged with culpable driving causing death, driving dangerously causing death and driving a motor vehicle carelessly.
When Mr Gamarra’s matter was called, Magistrate Simon Zebrowski asked Thomas Bell, Mr Gamarra’s lawyer, where his client was.
Mr Bell replied “Mr Gamarra is not bailed to appear in the court as the prosecution have dropped all charges.”
It had previously been alleged that Mr Gamarra caused the crash that led to Katunga woman Cheryl Nye’s death in Tallygaroopna on September 13, 2023.
