Cobram: David, Jaide and Josh Eddy face court on drug charges

An alleged bikie family from Cobram accused of running a drug operation in Victoria’s north have faced court.

A Cobram family accused of running a drug operation in the state’s north with alleged connections to the Mongols motorcycle gang will have to wait until at least next year to learn their fate.

Joshua Eddy, 29, his sister Jaide, 18, and father David, 52, briefly faced Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday afternoon.

Defence and prosecution agreed to a special mention hearing in February next year with more evidence still being collected.

In previous court hearings, it has been alleged Josh was the “ringleader” of the drug operation and his family were “secondary members”.

He was arrested following a police raid at a Yanco Ct property in July where police allegedly seized drugs and $30,000.

His father David was stopped on the Cobram-Barooga bridge that morning where a search of his car uncovered between $100,000 and $150,000 in cash and a loaded firearm.

The court heard David’s and his daughter’s home was later raided on Gemmill St where police seized a large amount of drugs.

Police said they seized almost 2.5kg of cocaine and 1kg of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine which was found in vacuum sealed bags behind a false wall hidden behind the fridge.

Joshua has been charged with four counts of trafficking a large commercial quantity of drugs, dealing with proceeds of crime and possessing a firearm while remaining in custody.

David, who is facing 12 charges, also remains behind bars.

Jaide has been charged with four counts of trafficking a large quantity of drugs and remains on bail.

The prosecution and defence did haggle over potentially listing the matter for a hearing in December but magistrate Peter Mithen said a date next year would allow “everyone to know what’s happening”.
