A woman alleged to have murdered a Shepparton man will have to wait until next year to have her case heard.
Narelle Atkinson briefly faced Shepparton Magistrates’ Court via video link on Tuesday morning as parties discussed next steps in the case.
A three-day committal hearing has now been listed for May next year with witnesses set to be cross-examined.
Atkinson was charged with murder in following an alleged stabbing at a Heysen Ave property on June 2 this year.
Emergency services had been called to the scene about 1.15am.
Following the incident, a 49-year-old Shepparton man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.
Police said both parties were known to each other.
Atkinson’s defence lawyer indicated she had asked the court for earlier dates but the request could not be met.
Prosecutors said witnesses in the case will include detectives and “civilian young people”.
The case will return before a magistrate on May 4.
No application was made for bail.
