A person has been trapped and seriously injured after a terrifying accident at a popular racing circuit.
Emergency services responded to reports of a high-speed crash with a person believed to be trapped under a bike at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Ventnor about 10am on Tuesday.
A man in his 40s has endured lower body injuries and has been flown to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition.
The Herald Sun understands the accident happened during Phillip Island Ride Days event where anyone with a valid driver’s licence can pay $305 and ride the Phillip Island Circuit.
“A Phillip Island Ride Day consists of 6 x 20 minute allocated riding sessions where you can spend quality time with your motorcycle in a controlled and supervised setting,” according to Phillip Island Ride Days website.
It comes days before the 2024 Superbike World Championship that will be held at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
