The Acting Sen-Sgt, who has been an officer for 27 years, said 2019 was the ideal time to become a part of the force.
“There’s never been a better time to join,” he said.
Acting Sen-Sgt Boyce said the force was undertaking the biggest recruitment drive in its history, aiming to get another 3000 police officers, protective service officers and police custody officers on board by 2020.
“We’re focused on growing the workforce to better represent the community.”
He said the police were looking to achieve more diversity in their teams in terms of age, gender, religion, culture and sexual orientation.
Attendees can also expect to hear from two other Whitehorse officers, who will speak about their experience with the force and what the daily life of the role entails.
The information night will be held at Whitehorse Centre on Tuesday, April 30 from 6pm.
Officers will provide on-the-job insights and answer questions.
Registrations are essential.
