Both lanes of Warrigal Rd in Surrey Hills will finally reopen next month, after 15 months of closures and a reduced speed limit.
Work to build a new wall beside the busy arterial road is expected to finish in April, Burwood state Labor MP Will Fowles has announced, with the road to be cleared of disruption by the end of March.

Sections of the road have been closed between Canterbury and Riversdale roads since an embankment gave way during heavy rain in December 2017, forcing the 11,000 motorists who use the road daily to navigate traffic cones at the bottleneck at 40km/h.
Mr Fowles thanked the community for its patience during the “complex and challenging project”.
“We’re working hard to finish these works as quickly as we can,” he said.
“The teams from VicRoads and Hogan Fulton have done a great job delivering a complex piece of engineering on a very constrained site.”
The new retaining wall will have 700 tonnes of reinforcing material and is said to have a service life of 100 years.
