Princes Highway Clayton: Inbound lanes closed after truck rolls into bushes

Drivers face delays on their morning commute in Melbourne’s east, with part of a major road closed following a truck rollover.

Part of the Princes Highway is closed after a nasty truck rollover near Clayton.

According to VicRoads, the truck was travelling towards Oakleigh when it rolled near Blackburn Rd about 7.20am.

A picture posted by the Department Of Transport showed the truck lying in bushes on the left hand side of the road near the service lane.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and were set to close inbound lanes of the highway

Department of Transport spokesman Chris Miller said all inbound lanes were set to be closed for about 20 minutes, as a heavy hauler was being brought in to pull the truck back up on its wheels.

Mr Miller advised drivers to detour around the incident by using Springvale and Wellington Rds before heading back onto the highway.

The condition of the driver is unknown, however an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics had not been called to the incident.
