A three-level retail precinct is set to open at Box Hill’s tallest building, Sky One.
Developer Golden Age Group said Sky One Plaza, spread over the first three levels of the 36-storey tower, would offer premium retail and hospitality offerings, including China’s largest hot pot chain, Haidilao.
The precinct, which includes 75m of direct frontages to nearby Station St and Carrington St, has been designed by award-winning firm Fender Katsalidis, drawing inspiration from Box Hill’s reputation for vibrant food outlets and rich Asian food traditions.
Fender Katsalidis director Craig Baudin said the design signified a new direction and ambience for dining in Box Hill.
“We wanted each level (of the precinct) to have its own character, with a vibrant fine-grained food street on the ground floor and larger retail spaces on the upper levels,” he said.
“The plaza is organised around a central sky-lit atrium that brings a sense of brightness, accentuated by the light palette.”
Golden Age Group sales and marketing director Dandan Zhao said the precinct introduced a new level of luxury to retail in Box Hill.
“Sky One Plaza is bound to become a highly-sought after retail destination for both locals and tourists alike,” she said.
The precinct will officially open in the next couple of weeks.
Haidilao is already open for dining on level two.
