A man has been taken to hospital following a three-car pileup on EastLink, which happened as motorists slowed to pass a stationary police car.
Knox highway patrol Sergeant Tanya Lavin said the collision happened just after police pulled over a driver on EastLink in Wantirna South, right near the Burwood Highway exit, about 9.54am.
Sgt Lavin said other drivers slowed down to 40km/h to go past the police car, but a 26-year-old Bayswater man wasn’t as quick enough reducing his speed.
His car slammed into the back of the car in front, pushing it into another car up ahead.
He was taken to Maroondah Hospital with minor injuries, while the other drivers were uninjured.
