DETECTIVES are hoping to speak to a man and a woman who intervened in an alleged sexual assault in Doncaster in July.

POLICE are hoping to speak to a man and woman who intervened in an alleged sexual assault on July 28.

Transit CIU detectives arrested a man following the alleged assault in Doncaster.

The incident allegedly happened about 11.30pm at a bus stop outside a shopping centre on Doncaster Rd.

A 35-year-old Mitcham man was arrested that evening and is expected to be charged on summons with sexual assault.

Investigators are hoping to identify a man and woman who intervened at the time of the incident.

The man is described as caucasian with dark hair and wore a light-coloured baseball cap, black pants and a checked jacket.

The woman is perceived as caucasian with brown hair that was tied up.

She was wearing glasses, black torn jeans, a green hooded jacket, light top with a black logo on the front and black and white shoes.

Both are believed to be aged in their 20s.
