Melbourne’s fashion capital is turning to free dancing and ballet classes for children to convince shoppers to return in droves amid the coronavirus scare.

Chadstone shopping centre is inviting shoppers to get in to the rhythm from March 28 with Let’s Dance, a 13-day free entertainment series running until Thursday, April 9.

The series will celebrate the power and beauty of dance through a range of free classes, performances and dining experiences all available these school holidays.

A stage outside David Jones will be home to The Australian Ballet School’s program with children from 3 to 16 offered a mix of free beginner and intermediate ballet classes every day.

On Saturday evenings, the stage will feature thrilling performances that defy the laws of physics by award-winning and internationally renowned Australian performance company, Gravity & Other Myths.

Another stage outside Target will feature urban dancing, including performances from B-boys and hip hop dancers on Saturday evenings.

On Sundays, visitors will be inspired as local dance groups take the stage showcasing the best in multicultural dancing.

Chadstone centre manager Michael Whitehead said the program was “an example of how Chadstone delivers world class experiences for its visitors”.
