Car theft Melbourne: Three 15-year-olds accused of stealing nine cars in a month

A trio of 15-year-old boys are in custody and will face court after allegedly stealing nine cars and other items throughout Melbourne this month. Here’s their alleged rap sheet.

Three teens will face a Childen’s Court after allegedly stealing nine cars and goods ranging from handbags to netball and marine equipment across Melbourne in May.

Manningham detectives arrested the three 15 year olds and a fourth youth in connection to the series of incidents, which happened between May 6 to 19.

The three 15 year olds were charged with alleged offences including car theft, thefts from cars, obtaining property by deception, and committing indictable offences whist on bail.

The alleged crime spree began on May 6 when the trio allegedly stole a handbag from a car in Heath St, Lower Templestowe, and then used credit cards inside to make various purchases.

The cars they allegedly stole included a Nissan Juke and Hyundai i30 on Laurimar Hill Drive in Doreen and a Mazda CX5 in Vermont South on May 11.

This was allegedly followed by a Jaguar in Parkdale overnight on May 14-15, a Holden HRV in Mornington on May 16, and a Land Rover Discovery and a Mercedes Benz in Mount Eliza on the same day.

The last two cars in their alleged haul before police pounced were a Ford Mondeo in Mornington on May 17 and another Jaguar in Donvale just before 5am on May 19.

Along with the cars, the trio are accused of taking other items from various homes and cars, including tools and marine diving equipment from the Parkdale address overnight on May 14 and 15, netball equipment from a car on Dorothy Crescent in Mornington overnight on May 15 and 16, and perfume, necklace and a wallet from a car in Mt Eliza on May 17.

They are also accused of taking Gucci shoes, a handbag and a wallet during the Pine Lodge, Donvale incident on May 19.

Police arrested one of the boys in Noble Park on May 21, while the other two boys were arrested in Mulgrave on May 23.

The trio were all remanded in custody to appear before a Children’s Court at a later date.

A fourth teen was also arrested and is expected to be charged on summons in relation to theft of motor vehicle.
