Brandon Park Shopping Centre: a driver ‘accidentally’ drove into shop front at the Springvale Rd centre

A man had to be cut out of a car after he drove it through a shop front at a busy Wheelers Hill shopping centre.

A man has driven into a shop front at a popular local shopping centre in Melbourne’s south east.

Emergency services responded to a single car crash in Wheelers Hill on Friday, July 15 around 10.40am.

A police spokesperson said the male driver “accidentally drove into the front of a business”.

After “multiple calls” to 000, all three emergency services attended the incident, which required firefighters to help get the man out of the vehicle.

Firefighters arrived within five minutes of being notified, and were able to declare the scene under control by 10.49am.

A Fire Rescue Victoria spokesperson said that police attended the scene alongside firefighters and a structural engineer to assess the incident and building damages.
