Braeside crop house: MacBeth St factory raid uncovers $10 million worth of cannabis in national sting spanning to Sunshine West and Queensland
A national sting has netted a huge haul of cannabis with a street value of up to $10 million, with one man attempting a dramatic escape as police swooped on a Braeside factory. It comes as properties in Sunshine West and Queensland were also hit.

A whopping $10 million worth of cannabis has been seized in a massive drug haul at Braeside.
Five men were arrested on Thursday following a series of co-ordinated raids at properties Braeside, Sunshine and Queensland.
A staggering 600kg of the drug was uncovered when police swooped at a MacBeth St factory in Braeside’s industrial area about 9am.
A desperate man tried to escape by climbing onto the factory’s roof but his getaway was cut short when he was apprehended by officers.
At the same time, police arrested two men and unveiled a stack of cash at a property in Anne Ct in Sunshine West.
Queensland investigators also arrested two men and found two huge crops inside warehouses in Loganholme and Slacks Creek.
A 49-year-old Braeside man and a 36-year-old Sunshine West man were remanded and charged with commercial scale cultivation of a narcotic plant.
They are expected to front Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
A 44-year-old Sunshine West man was bailed and will front court facing a similar drug cultivation charge at a later date.
