Wycheproof Cup Day did not fail to deliver.

Punters certainly enjoyed a terrific day at the “Derby Day in the Country” at Wycheproof Cup Day.

Roughly 276km northwest of Melbourne, Wycheproof is a beautiful drive up the Calder Freeway.

It’s the first time the event has been held in the post-COVID era, and racegoers flocked in their thousands.

They flocked from Melbourne, Geelong, Charlton, Boort, Bendigo and many other corners of Victoria for this famous event.

Sadly, the Wycheproof Cup itself was unable to be run as stewards abandoned the meeting due to the track conditions.

Regardless, it was still a stunning day at the track.

On Thursday night, silos were lit up in green to celebrate the return of the famous event.

Green is the colour of country racing in Victoria.

Silos in Wycheproof lit up in the famous colours of Country Racing Victoria to mark the return of the 'Derby Day of the Country'.

Guests dressed to impress — and some to amuse — with a competitive fashions on the field.

There were also free children’s activities, great food outlets and even an art exhibition.
