Troy Samuel Cahoon, 47, faced Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with a slew of burglaries and thefts across the region in an alleged three month crime spree.
Police allege Mr Cahoon was caught on CCTV with an accomplice smashing windows and doors with bricks and a hammer in December 2023 and February 2024.
The burglars allegedly hit the Bendigo Golf Course, Kennington Dental Clinic, Huntly Post Office, Kangaroo Flat Provincial Home Living, Anaconda, Coffee Club, Love Bug Kids, Shining Bright Hair Salon Washateria laundromat, Old Green Bean cafe, and Malayan Orchid restaurant.
Police allege they made off with petty cash, but often stole products when they found no cash in the registrars.
At the Huntly Post Office, toys and other products were allegedly taken.
Mr Cahoon and his accomplice allegedly hit Shining Bright Hair Salon in King St, they made off with hairdressing supplies, including multiple shampoo bottles, and an iPhone valued about $2600.
The burglary spree came to an end when police busted the two accused thieves with socks on their hands, allegedly trying to avoid leaving fingerprints while they broke into the Malayan Orchid restaurant.
Magistrate Dominic Lennon adjourned the case for negotiations to continue between the prosecution and defence.
Mr Cahoon was bailed until his next court appearance.
