Police are investigating after a 16-year-old was allegedly stabbed in Kangaroo Flat after an argument at a party turned sour.

A 17-year-old was allegedly stabbed by a 20-year-old Castlemaine man at a party on Wednesday night.

Officers were called to a fight at a property on Olympic Parade just before 11pm on Wednesday.

It is understood a 16-year-old Bendigo teenager was leaving a party when a 20-year-old Castlemaine man allegedly stabbed him.

Police are investigating an alleged stabbing in Bendigo.

The Kangaroo Flat boy was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police allege the 20-year-old fled the scene on foot before police arrested him just before midnight on High St.

Police found the Castlemaine man accused of stabbing the Bendigo teen with “serious” upper body injuries and transported to hospital under police guard.

“The circumstances surrounding how the man sustained his injuries are yet to be determined and the investigation remains ongoing,” a Bendigo police spokesman said.

The 20-year-old is yet to be charged and remains in hospital under police guard.

The teenager has since been released from hospital.
