Police allege Mr Longley was stopped on the same day 126km from Bendigo on the Calder Highway at Calder Park driving a car without displaying registration plates in accordance with the law.

Bendigo uniform officers brought theft charges against the trio of alleged thieves last week on April 17.

In court on Monday, the three appeared for a filing hearing.

Legal representatives for the accused thieves indicated in court that the charges would be contested, with the value of the allegedly stolen caravan in dispute.

Mr Ivankovic is also further charged with falsely reporting to police the theft of car number plates resulting in a police investigation on March 14 at Bangleholme.

All three men have been on bail and will remain at liberty while police compile evidence ahead of a committal mention in July.
