Hicks, who works as a traffic controller, flew off the handle in April last year at a Golden Square property when his neighbour placed their bins out on the nature strip for collection.

Hicks came outside and yelled “keep your s**t on your property”, threw the bins back onto his neighbours property and threatened to “put a tomahawk in your skull”.

Two months earlier, Hicks took out an axe during a neighbour dispute, causing his neighbours to flee, the court heard.

The court heard in February this year Hicks smashed up the windshield of his neighbour’s car and slashed their tyres, causing damage of around $1700 during his campaign of terror against them.

When his neighbour raised the damage with Hicks he threatened to “cut” him.

The victim said in a statement to the court that he and his housemates had been forced to flee the home out of fear of Hicks.

The court heard the neighbour was now selling the home.

Magistrate Russell Kelly told Hicks if he kept threatening people he could face jailtime.

Mr Kelly ordered Hicks to pay the victim $1700 to fix the car he smashed up.
