Police are hunting a man accused of skipped bail after allegedly robbing a bloke for half-a-pack of Chesterfield cigarettes with a kitchen knife.

Isaiah Wellington-McGee, 19, of Kangaroo Flat, failed to appear at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with armed robbery at Bendigo in August last year.

The court heard Mr Wellington-McGee’s lawyer was unable to reach him, and he had allegedly gone on the run.

The court heard Mr Wellington-McGee had a warrant out for his arrest for further aggravated burglary, robbery and car theft charges in Bendigo.

Magistrate Johanna Metcalf issued another warrant for Mr Wellington-McGee’s arrest.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding him.

He is known to frequent Bendigo, Melbourne’s CBD and Fitzroy areas.

He is described as of Indigenous appearance, tall and slim build and is believed to have a moustache and long hair.
