A teenager who allegedly crawled through a doggie door with a meat cleaver has been charged with multiple home invasions including one where he is accused of stealing a $150,000 Porsche.

A teenager who allegedly crawled through a doggie door with a meat cleaver will remain on remand after he was charged with multiple home invasions across Bendigo and Melbourne, including one where he is accused of stealing a $150,000 Porsche.
Deklan Theobold, 18, faced Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with home invasion, four counts of aggravated burglary, three counts of attempted aggravated burglary, robbery, two counts of burglary, six counts of theft of motor vehicle, six counts of theft and spate of other related offences.
Police will allege the California Gully teen committed a series of aggravated burglaries, and multiple car thefts in the Bendigo, Maryborough and Melbourne areas.
He is accused of stealing a $45,000 MG Sedan, $20,000 Subaru, $150,000 Porsche Macan GTS and a $4500 Kawasaki motorbike in burglaries that spanned January and February this year.
In one of the alleged burglaries, police allege Mr Theobold was armed with a meat cleaver when he and accomplices entered a Fairfield home through a doggie door to steal keys to a Subaru on February 22.
In the burglary where Mr Theobold is accused of stealing a $150,000 Porsche, he allegedly kicked in the back door of the Quarry Hill home while the residents were inside.
It is also alleged Mr Theobold was involved in two separate burglaries targeting massage parlours in Bendigo on February 6, and in Richmond on 11 February where 30 handbags were allegedly stolen.
Following a warrant being issued for Mr Theobold’s arrest, the teen allegedly took to social media to address his critics.
“All yous [sic] do is airraid [sic] on the internet half yous [sic] wouldn’t say non [sic] of it if I came to your homes,” Mr Theobold allegedly wrote on social media.
The 18-year-old was arrested on Fitzpatrick Court in California Gully on Friday about 9.30am.
He faced court for a filing hearing on Monday where he did not apply for bail.
The court heard Mr Theobold had an intellectual disability and he had been diagnosed with autism.
He disclosed to the court he was abusing “various illicit substances”.
Mr Theobold will remain behind bars ahead of his next court date at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court for a committal mention on May 28.
