Bendigo man Kevin Campbell charged over child abuse material after police raid near Eaglehawk playspace

A Bendigo man has been charged with transmitting child abuse material after task force detectives raided a home near a major children’s playground.

A Bendigo man has been charged with transmitting child abuse material after task force detectives raided a home near a major children’s playground.

Detectives from the Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team descended on the Walls St home — less than 100m from Eaglehawk Playspace — on Thursday night following an investigation into the alleged transmission of child abuse material.

They seized a number of electronic devices.

62-year-old Bendigo man Kevin Campbell was charged with three counts of transmitting child abuse material.

He was also charged with possessing child abuse material and transmitting indecent communications.

Mr Campbell did not apply for bail and will remain in custody until his next court date in June.
