The name of a Bendigo man facing hundreds of child sex charges after a police raid allegedly revealed child abuse material can be revealed after a secrecy order was lifted.

A Bendigo man charged with hundreds of child sex offences can be revealed for the first time after a suppression order was lifted.
Darryl Peace, 57, faced Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday facing more than 250 charges relating to child abuse material.
The case was suppressed for 12 months on January 18 last year and Mr Peace, who has been on bail, has remained anonymous until now.
Police charged Mr Peace on January 12 last year after a raid allegedly revealed electronic devices containing child abuse material.
The court heard at the time Mr Peace’s case was involved in a broader investigation that required the court proceedings be kept in total secrecy.
In court on Wednesday, it was revealed Mr Peace had pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Mr Peace remains on bail and will return to court in February.
