A sicko Gippsland dad was caught with condoms and lubricant as he prowled a Mornington sports reserve looking for his teen sex target.

A sex fiend dad who schemed about hiring a 14-year-old schoolgirl to babysit his children so they “could have some fun” has been jailed.

Christopher ‘Chris’ Stretton, 41, was sentenced in the County Court on Friday to a 10-month jail stint after pleading guilty to child sex offending.

Stretton, who pleaded guilty to procure a person believed to be under the age of 16 for sexual activity, used pedo hunting ground app Kik Messenger to communicate with ‘Indiana’ between May 24 and August 15 last year.

Stretton, of Leongatha, believed Indiana was a 14-year-old Mornington Peninsula schoolgirl but she was in fact an undercover cop posing as a child to snare pedos.

Stretton, who immediately learned his sex target’s age, told Indiana he could teach her about “sexual activity” and asked for “sexy pics”.

“Oh dear, 14, too young,” Stretton told Indiana.

Stretton – under the Kik username Shaun the Sheep – also told Indiana he “intended to cheat on his wife” and asked his target if she was “into older guys”.

He also sent Indiana an image of his erect penis and asked for photos in return.

Stretton also specifically requested a photo to ensure he wasn’t being “set up”.

“Are you sure you’re not, like a, police officer or anything, LOL,” he wrote.

Indiana sent Stretton a voice message.

“Hi this is Indi, this is so silly, I’m at school,” the target said.

Stretton asked Indiana if she was “having a good day at school”.

Stretton also asked Indiana if she would ever “meet a man”, if she was a “virgin”, if she ever performed oral sex and if she ever “got horny”.

Stretton also dreamt up a plot to pay Indiana to babysit his children so they “could have some fun”.

Stretton also asked what kind of underwear she wore.

The father also told Indiana to wag school so he could meet her at a time when his wife was looking after their children.

Stretton and Indiana eventually agreed to meet in Mornington in mid-August.

Stretton took a day off work without telling his wife and drove to the planned meeting point at Mornington Football Club.

The court heard Stretton prowled around looking for Indiana before police swooped in and arrested the fiend.

Investigators discovered condoms, lubricant, two mobile phones and a Supre dress Stretton had purchased for Indiana.

Stretton told police he was just “trying to get a bit of action” because his marital sex life had dried up.

Stretton also told police he searched for Airbnbs and hotels where he could take Indiana for sex.

He also told investigators he intended for Indiana to perform oral sex and “fondle his penis”.

Stretton also admitted purchasing the Supre dress for Indiana to wear during their meeting.

Investigators discovered search history on Stretton’s devices which revealed he had been searching the names of various schools and “associated” bus routes in Mornington prior to his arrest.

The defence submitted to the court Stretton had operated heavy machinery but was sacked after his vile offending was exposed in the media.

Lawyers for Stretton made an on the fly attempt to have his name blocked from media reporting but failed.

Stretton, who was made a registered sex offender for eight years, was handed a two-year jail term but will be released on a good behaviour bond after serving 10 months.
